Julie A.

Owner/Clinical Director

Julie Angstadt is the owner and clinical director of Hummingbird ABA Therapy. She is a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA), a licensed behavior specialist (LBS), and an international behavior analyst (IBA). She earned her bachelors degree from Westminster College, PA focusing on early childhood education and special education and her masters degree from Cairn University, PA in Applied Behavior Analysis.

She has worked with children and adults with special needs in classrooms, psych rehab programs, ABA centers, and in their home/community settings. Julie's primary purpose in starting Hummingbird ABA Therapy was to provide needed services to those with autism and related disorders, while teaching these individuals to advocate for themselves. She has presented at national conferences on topics related to neurodiversity affirming practices and parent needs. She is passionate about advocacy and ethical treatment modalities and she is a firm believer in following children's lead as they learn. 

While not at work, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and children, especially when they can be outdoors. She has lived in PA for over a decade after growing up in a small town in Central New Jersey. Julie enjoys going to the beach, reading, and drinking lots of coffee.

Sarah M.

Administrative Director

Sarah is the Administrative Director at Hummingbird ABA Therapy. Her job is to help things in the office organized and running smoothly. She has a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Mansfield University, and prior to coming to Hummingbird she ran her own in-home daycare. Her favorite thing about working at Hummingbird is getting to do different things each day. 

She is passionate about helping others and improving the lives of children, and loves getting to greet each child as they come in to our center. 

Sarah lives in Bellefonte with her husband, their three children, two dogs, and two cats. She is an avid reader and also enjoys baking, playing word games, and drinking too much coffee. 

Melissa W.

Behavior Analyst

Melissa is the Lead Behavior Analyst at Hummingbird ABA Therapy. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from Arcadia University.  She has been working in the field of behavior analysis for approximately 5 years. Melissa started out working as an RBT in a clinical setting before going on to earn her BCBA. She has experience working with children between the ages of 18 months to 11 years old. Melissa is trained in Hanley's Skills Based Training (SBT) and Practical Functional Analysis (PFA) and uses these methods along with other neurodiversity affirming practices to ensure safe and effective reduction of unsafe problem behaviors and teaching safe replacement behaviors. Seeing all of the progress her clients make is the most rewarding part of her job! Some of her clinical interests include language acquisition and the treatment of severe problem behavior such as self-injury and aggression.  In her free time she enjoys listening to music and spending time with her daughter.

Tracy S.

Behavior Analyst

Tracy has been helping children for over 20 years. She found her calling by working with children and their families affected by developmental delays. She began her career as an Autism/Developmental therapist with Early Intervention and subsequently became a registered behavior technician, and then a BCBA.  She finds true gratification in working with families and believes that helping children find their strengths and grow to their full potential is the most rewarding thing she could do with her life.  

Tracy graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Master’s Degree in Education, with a foundation in ABA. She is both a BCBA and LBS in Pennsylvania.  She is trained in: Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), incidental teaching, discrete trial teaching, sign language, sensory processing difficulties, behavioral therapies, and floor time therapy.  Tracy also has additional training in verbal behavior and natural environment teaching. She loves being a part of the Hummingbird BCBA Supervisor Team.

In her free time, she enjoys being a mommy to her daughter, Julia, painting, exploring local thrift stores, and eating at new restaurants. 

Jordan S.

Jordan S. is a Behavior Consultant with a Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Drexel University. She is working towards her clinical experience hours to become eligible for the behavior analyst exam. Jordan started working for Hummingbird as an Assistant Behavior Consultant after gaining valuable experience working as a paraprofessional in local schools. Jordan brings an appreciated view to her practice as a Behavior Consultant as she is an individual with autism herself, and hopes to use her own personal and professional experiences to improve the lives of other children with autism. In her free time, Jordan enjoys watching Disney movies, completing puzzles, and playing with her cats.
