Even if you are just beginning your family’s journey with autism, you probably already know someone who has it. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 1 in every 36 American children has an autism diagnosis. Hummingbird ABA Therapy was founded to help families just like yours.
Since 2020, Hummingbird ABA Therapy has grown into the State College area's largest ABA Agency, providing intensive behavioral health services to over 100 children.
Julie A.
Owner/Clinical Director
Julie Angstadt is the owner and clinical director of Hummingbird ABA Therapy. She is a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA), a licensed behavior specialist (LBS), and an international behavior analyst (IBA). She earned her bachelors degree from Westminster College, PA focusing on early childhood education and special education and her masters degree from Cairn University, PA in Applied Behavior Analysis.

She has worked with children and adults with special needs in classrooms, psych rehab programs, ABA centers, and in their home/community settings. Julie's primary purpose in starting Hummingbird ABA Therapy was to provide needed services to those with autism and related disorders, while teaching these individuals to advocate for themselves. She has presented at national conferences on topics related to neurodiversity affirming practices and parent needs. She is passionate about advocacy and ethical treatment modalities and she is a firm believer in following children's lead as they learn.

While not at work, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and children, especially when they can be outdoors when it's warm. She has lived in PA for over a decade after growing up in a small town in Central New Jersey. Julie enjoys going to the beach, reading, and drinking lots of coffee.
Sarah M.
Administrative Director
Sarah is the Administrative Director at Hummingbird ABA Therapy. Her job is to help things in the office organized and running smoothly. She has a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Mansfield University, and prior to coming to Hummingbird she ran her own in-home daycare. Her favorite thing about working at Hummingbird is getting to do different things each day.

She is passionate about helping others and improving the lives of children, and loves getting to greet each child as they come in to our center.

Sarah lives in Bellefonte with her husband, their three children, two dogs, and two cats. She is an avid reader and also enjoys baking, playing word games, and drinking too much coffee.
ABA Case Supervisors
ABA Supervisors are licensed, masters or doctorate-level providers trained in the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. These providers complete ABA Assessments, including standardized and evidence-based ABA assessment measures and Functional Behavior Assessments, determine the clinical needs based on their assessments, develop the Individual Treatment Plan (ITP), oversee and supervise the ABA therapy of their clients, meet at least monthly with parents/caregivers to review progress and needs, and conduct caregiver training to ensure consistency across settings, and review and analyze the data and progress for their clients.

Clinical Team
The ABA Clinical Team works directly with clients under the supervision of our masters-level ABA Supervisors.
Hummingbird ABA Therapy also employs over 26 Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT-ABA) to work 1:1 with our ABA Clients under the supervision of ABA Case Supervisors.
